Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant tied the knot on July 12 at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre, attracting a large crowd. There were reports of attempted gatecrashing, leading the BKC Police to book two individuals for trespassing at various points during the ceremony.
According to news agency PTI, security personnel at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding detained two individuals identified as Luqman Mohammad Shafi Shaikh (28) and Venkatesh Narsaiah Aluri (26).Shaikh identified himself as a businessman, while Aluri stated he is a YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh.

An officer stated, “The two accused claimed they came to witness the wedding due to its hype. Aluri expressed intentions to record and feature the event on his channel.” The FIR mentioned that on July 12 at approximately 10:40 am, security guard Aakash Yevaskar and a colleague apprehended Aluri near Pavilion 1 of the venue. When questioned, Aluri provided evasive responses.

The officer disclosed that Aluri initially tried to enter the venue illegally through gate number 23 but was denied entry when found without an invitation. Despite this, he later managed to trespass through gate number 19. Police further reported that when asked to leave, the YouTuber harassed security personnel, leading to his handover to the BKC police station for legal proceedings.

On the other hand, Luqman Mohammad Shafi Shaikh was apprehended from the first floor of the Centre around 2:40 am on July 13 during a routine inspection. The officer stated, “A security guard noticed him behaving suspiciously, prompting a check for his invitation. Upon finding he didn’t have one, he was handed over to the security manager.”
He admitted to illegally entering the ceremony through gate number 10. As he refused to vacate the premises, he was transferred to the BKC police. “A trespassing case was filed against the two men under the appropriate section, and they were issued notices as per legal provisions,” concluded the officer. They were subsequently released after due procedure.
