The late Indian actress Sridevi was known for her dedication to her craft, as demonstrated by her commitment to a role, which touched even her personal life. During the trailer launch of her film ‘Mom,’ Sridevi revealed that during her preparation for the role, she did not speak to her husband, Boney Kapoor, for three months, except to greet him in the morning and wish him goodnight.
“For three months, I did not speak to Boney ji as a husband. I used to greet him good morning and after pack up, I used to wish him goodnight – that’s all we spoke. That was the only conversation I had with him,” she confessed.

Sridevi and Boney’s love story itself reads like a silver-screen saga. Their paths initially crossed in the 70s when Boney first saw Sridevi while shooting a Tamil film. However, fate brought them closer during filming ‘Mr. India’ in 1987, where Sridevi starred opposite Boney’s younger brother, Anil Kapoor. Their love blossomed in the 90s, culminating in a marriage in 1996. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, further cementing their familial bonds.

Although Sridevi passed away unexpectedly in 2018, Boney Kapoor still carries her memory in his heart. In an interview with Gulf News, he expressed that he does not need closure and wants his beloved to be ever-present in his life. “She is always in my thoughts, and there is not a single moment of the day when she is not with me. She may not be physically present, but she is there in my mind all the time, and that is what keeps me going,” he shared.
