Deepika Padukone is one of the most popular stars of the current generation. She made her debut in Farah Khan‘s directorial “Om Shanti Om” alongside Shah Rukh Khan, where she played the role of Shanti and won the hearts of many with her performance and charisma.
However, Deepika was already part of the music album “Naam Hai Tera” before she featured in “Om Shanti Om.” Himesh Reshammiya’s “Naam Hai Tera” became her first break in the industry.The song was well received by the audience and garnered a lot of views online.
On the sets of Indian Idol season 11, Deepika came to promote her film “Chhapaak.” She thanked Himesh Reshammiya, who was one of the judges on the show. She revealed that it was him who gave her that first break in the industry. Deepika admitted that it was after “Naam Hai Tera” that Farah Khan noticed her and cast her in “Om Shanti Om.”

After that, Deepika and Himesh performed the song on stage together. Himesh Reshammiya also took to Instagram to post two pictures with Deepika Padukone. In the first picture, he expressed that it was fun to perform “Naam Hai Tera” with Deepika again. He called her an ‘incredible’ talent and added that he is ‘proud’ of her. He further wrote, “Chhapaak is mind-blowing, what a performer she is, looking forward to the film, lots of love.”

On personal front, Deepika is expecting her first child with Ranveer Singh. She was recently seen in director Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, which has been breaking records at the box office. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Kamal Haasan in the lead.
