The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat Saurashtra and Kutch.
A yellow alert has been issued in Himachal Pradesh till August 7. The national capital is also likely to witness light rain on August 4.
Heavy rains lashed large parts of the country on Saturday, especially in Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand. On the other hand, rescue efforts have continued in Kerala’s Wayanad where a landslide hit the hill town on July 30 claiming over 300 lives.
