Watch: Washington Sundar bamboozles in-form Rachin Ravindra with an absolute ripper | Cricket News
NEW DELHI: Spin all-rounder Washington Sundar on Thursday came up with a magical delivery to knock over New Zealand’s in-form Rachin Ravindra in the second session on the opening day of the second Test in Pune.
Starting off his new spell in style, Sundar fired in a perfect ball to get rid of a dangerous-looking Ravindra for 65.
The Sundar cracker came in the 60th over of the Kiwi innings, when he bowled a classic off-spinner’s delivery from round the wicket.
As the in-drifter from Sundar pitched on length, Ravindra was lured to come forward and defend it.
The ball then turned sharply away, beat the outside edge of Rachin’s bat and took the top of the off stump.
A pumped-up Sundar jumped high in the air in celebration as his India teammates gathered around to celebrate the breakthrough.
At the end of the 60th over, New Zealand were 198 for four during the second session.
Earlier, in the morning session, the Kiwis scored 92 runs for the loss of two wickets after opting to bat first.
New Zealand lead the three-match Test series 1-0 after winning the opener by 8-wickets in Bengaluru.
