US exit polls are better, but you still can’t bet on them
The 2024 presidential race is shaping up to be one of the closest yet. Since actual vote counts could take weeks, all eyes will be on exit polls which begin at 5pm EST on Nov 5 or 2.30am IST on Nov 6, and who they project as the winner
It is election week in the US, with in-person voting for the presidential election on November 5. Four years ago, then incumbent Donald Trump declared himself the winner shortly after polls closed. It took days for the official results to be out, and Trump ultimately lost to President Joe Biden.
Trump never fully accepted the result, and weeks of claiming that the election was stolen from him culminated in his supporters charging at the US Capitol on Jan 6, 2021.
