Trump Vs Harris: Historic Firsts They Could Achieve With US Election Victory
Last Updated:
As polling begins in US today, both Trump and Harris stand on the verge of making history in their own way if either wins the presidential race
Polling day has begun in the United States, with both Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris have put immense pressure on voters. In a last-minute push to sway undecided voters, both candidates have campaigned tirelessly in key swing states.
This race for the White House has been one of the most eventful in American history. From the surprising suspension of US President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign in July, followed by his endorsement of Vice President Harris, to the attempted assassination attempts on Trump.
The growing influence of popular figures, including Hollywood celebrities, musicians, athletes, social media stars, and others, has played a crucial role in shaping the political dynamics of this election.

Endorsements from figures such as pop stars Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, billionaire Elon Musk, podcaster Joe Rogan, among several others have added significant weight to the political conversation.
Moreover, what makes this election particularly historic is that if Harris wins, she would become the first female president of the United States — a landmark achievement for one of the world’s most powerful countries.
However, if Trump secures a second term, he too would make history in several significant ways. Below is a list of historic firsts for both Trump and Harris, should they win the White House race, as compiled by Fox 5 New York:
If Donald Trump Wins:
- Second President to Serve Non-Consecutive Terms: Trump would become the first president since Grover Cleveland to return to office after losing a previous election.
- Oldest President Elected: If victorious, Trump would be the oldest person in U.S. history to be elected president.
- First Convicted Felon to Hold Office: Trump, who is currently facing felony charges, would be the first president to hold office while under legal indictment.
- Twice-Impeached President: Trump would become the only president in history to face impeachment proceedings twice during his time in office.
If Kamala Harris Wins:
- First Female President of America: Harris would break the glass ceiling, becoming the first woman to occupy the highest office in the U.S.
- First Woman of Colour as President: Her victory would represent a significant shift in representation at the highest levels of government, as she would also be the first president of South Asian descent.
- First ‘First Gentleman’: If elected, her husband, Doug Emhoff, would be the first male spouse of a female president, marking another milestone in American political history.
- Second President from California: Harris would become only the second president from California, following Richard Nixon.
