Training aircraft goes missing mid-air in Jharkhand’s Saraikela; search operation launched | India News
NEW DELHI: A two-seater training aircraft enroute to Saraikela from Jameshedpur went missing mid-air on Tuesday.
According to the officials, a search operation has been launched and neighbouring districts have also been informed.
The aircraft took off from the Sonari aerodrome in Jamshedpur around 11 am.
‘The aircraft was last located near Nimdih in Seraikela-Kharsawan district,’ East Singhbhum’s Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal said.
“We have received information about a training aircraft (which took off from Jamshedpur) that went missing. Search operation has been launched in Saraikela district. Jamshedpur administration is also involved in searching,” DC Saraikela Ravishankar Shukla said.
“We have informed the neighbouring district Purulia, West Bengal too. Every information related to this is being verified and acted upon,” he added.
