Stree 2 box office collection day 5: Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao’s film rides Raksha Bandhan wave, set to earn Rs 37 crore

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2 is making waves at the box office, with its Monday earnings. The film is performing exceptionally well in mass circuits, particularly due to the Raksha Bandhan holiday.
According to Sacnilk, Stree 2 is likely to reach a nett collection of at least Rs 37 crore, driven by strong performances in Hindi mass markets.In just five days, the Amar Kaushik-directed film has already collected Rs 228.45 crore nett and is on track to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of the year in its first week alone.
The movie’s first Monday is anticipated to rank among the top five all-time highest Monday grosses, with the potential to land in the top three if the mass circuits perform better than expected. Stree 2, which also features Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana, and a special appearance by Tamannaah Bhatia, crossed the Rs 200 crore mark on Sunday while topping its Friday numbers.

Maddock Films, the production house behind the movie, reported that the sequel to 2018’s Stree has grossed Rs 240 crore in India and Rs 43 crore internationally, bringing its worldwide total to Rs 283 crore in its first weekend.

Stree 2 is a direct sequel to the 2018 hit and follows Rajkummar Rao’s character, Vicky, and his friends as they confront a new ghostly terror, a headless apparition known as Sarkata, with Shraddha Kapoor reprising her role as the mysterious woman. The film is part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s larger horror-comedy universe, which also includes titles like Bhediya and Munjya.
