SSC CGL 2024 Tier 1 Exam Pattern
The SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam for 2024 will be conducted online and is designed to assess candidates across four key sections.The exam will feature a total of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each worth 2 marks, amounting to a maximum score of 200 marks. Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the test. It is crucial to understand that the SSC CGL Tier 1 exam is qualifying in nature; therefore, the scores from this stage will not contribute to the final selection process.
The exam is divided into four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Each section will contain 25 questions, contributing 50 marks to the overall total for each section. Consequently, the entire exam will be worth 200 marks. A negative marking scheme is also in effect, with a deduction of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer.
Topic-Wise Weightage for Quantitative Aptitude
In SSC CGL Tier 1, the Quantitative Aptitude section encompasses various topics with varying weightage. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the topic-wise weightage based on previous years’ question patterns:
The SSC CGL 2024 Tier 1 exam aims to fill a total of 17,727 positions across Group B (Gazetted and Non-Gazetted) officers and Group C staff in various Central Ministries.
The application period for the exam ran from June 24 to July 27. During this time, candidates were required to submit their personal details, upload necessary documents, and pay the application fee. Payment options were available both online and offline for the convenience of the applicants.
The allocation of these positions will follow the guidelines specified in the exam notice and will be based on merit as well as the candidates’ preferences for specific posts.
Candidates should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria by August 1, 2024. Those in their final year of graduation are eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree requirements by the same date.
