Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar has sent a letter to Hezbollah chief Sayyed Nasrallah expressing appreciation for Lebanese group’s support. Hezbollah chief had earlier in his letter to Sinwar congratulated him for assuming the role of Hamas chief.Sinwar was elevated to the top Hamas post after the alleged Israeli assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Iran in July. In the letter, published by al-Mayadeen daily, Sinwar thanks Nasrallah for his condolences over Haniyeh’s killing. Haniyeh, Sinwar said, rose as a martyr amid Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, “one of the most honorable battles fought by our Palestinian people”. “The lofty principles advocated by Haniyeh will remain steadfast, guiding our Movement and our Resistance fighters,” the letter added.Sinwar underlines that said Hamas will “remain steadfast as it always has on the path of loyalty to the blood of the martyrs.”
