Not many know that Shraddha Kapoor, riding high on the success of Stree 2, once shared how she rejected a Salman Khan film that could have been her debut.

While Shraddha officially made her debut in 2010 with Teen Patti, she was first offered a film role at just 16—opposite Salman Khan. An old interview of the actress that has been going around on Hindustan Times reveals that she was approached for the 2005 movie Lucky: No Time For Love, which was eventually played by Sneha Ullal.

While she always wanted to be an actor, Shraddha decided not to take up the offer and concentrate on completing her studies. The Baaghi actress added, “I felt that at the age of 15 or 16, I was too young and wanted to finish schooling and attend college. I don’t think getting offers back then has defined my success. But it was difficult to turn it down and focus on studies because it was such a fantastic opportunity to work with Salman Khan”
It took just two films after her debut for Shraddha’s career to see a major turn with the romantic musical Aashiqui 2. She literally became an overnight sensation and went on to star in a streak of successful films, including Chhichhore, Saaho, Stree, ABCD 2, Ek Villain, Baaghi 3, and Street Dancer 3D.
In a recent exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, the actress opened up about how she deals with online negativity. She shared “I believe in their (audiences’) love. If you’re getting that, you’re very very blessed in life. The audience is the most important part of films. The audience is the king and queen. As long as I am entertaining them and they are happy with what I am doing.”
Shraddha Kapoor is currently basking in the success of Stree 2, a sequel to her horror-comedy franchise that crossed Rs 100 crore within days of its release. Directed by Amar Kaushik, it also stars Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana.
