Shocking Attack on Shopkeepers in Chennai Over One-Rupee Pickle Sachet | Chennai News
CHENNAI: After a shopkeeper said that he didn’t have a one-rupee pickle sachet in his shop, a five-member gang attacked the shopkeepers and ransacked the shop at Kodambakkam on Monday night. The cops have launched a hunt for the gang with the help of CCTV camera footage.
Police said two brothers, Azharuddin and Mohammad Hussain, run a shop in Kamarajar Colony in Kodambakkam.
One of the customers demanded that the shopkeeper offer him a one-rupee pickle sachet. After the shopkeeper, Azharuddin, told him they only had a five-rupee pickle sachet, the man picked up an argument and left the place.
After a while, the man returned along with four other friends and entered into a fresh quarrel with Azharuddin and his brother Mohammad Hussain.
Following heated arguments, the gang members attacked the brothers and then threw the snack bottles and packets from the shop, damaging the belongings.
The whole event was recorded by the CCTV camera installed in the shop and was leaked on social media on Tuesday. Based on the complaint filed by Azharuddin, the Kodambakkam police registered a case and launched a hunt for the suspects.
