Donald Trump criticised Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for their handling of the Hamas hostage situation, blaming their leadership for the deaths, including Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-Polin

Donald Trump has blasted US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris following the deaths of six Hamas hostages, including 23-year-old Israeli-American Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

The US President, who made his remarks on Truth Social, accused the Biden administration of “poor leadership” that he claims led to the tragic outcome. “We grieve the senseless death of the Israeli Hostages, horrifically including a wonderful American Citizen, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, murdered by Hamas due to a complete lack of American Strength and Leadership,” Trump said in his post.

“Make no mistake – This happened because Comrade Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe Biden are poor Leaders. Americans are getting slaughtered overseas, while Kamala is disparaging and making up lies about Gold Star families, and Biden is sleeping on the beach on this 16th consecutive day of vacation,” he added.

‘Blood on their hands’

He further asserted that the deaths were a direct result of Biden and Harris’s leadership failures, claiming they have “blood on their hands” and that such terror would not have occurred under his administration. The bodies of the hostages were recovered in Rafah, Gaza, where they had reportedly been killed by gunfire a few days prior.

Biden expressed outrage over the killing and said, “Make no mistake, Hamas leaders will pay for these crimes.” He also reached out to Goldberg-Polin’s parents to offer condolences, describing them as “courageous, wise, and steadfast.” Harris also communicated with the family, expressing her heartbreak over their loss.

In her statement, she stressed that they are not alone in their grief and condemned Hamas for its actions. The hostages were abducted during a surprise attack by Hamas on October 7, while attending a music festival in Israel. Goldberg-Polin was among those taken, sustaining severe injuries during the attack.

Hundreds of thousands of protestors took to the streets in Israel on Sunday following the death of six hostages in Gaza as anger mounted over the inability of the country’s leadership to secure a ceasefire deal that would free the captives. Israeli media reported that 300,000 people gathered in Tel Aviv and an additional 200,000 took part in protests across the country, demanding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu secure the release of the remaining 101 hostages.
