Samsung’s Affordable Galaxy Flip Phone Could Get Flagship Power: What We Know
Last Updated:
Samsung is planning for a cheaper Galaxy Z Flip model but it hasn’t officially talked about the rumoured product so far.
Samsung is widely expected to come out with an affordable version of Galaxy Z Flip model with the popular FE moniker. And even though the price of the flip model is likely to be in the lower range, it seems the brand is not looking to compromise on its performance. According to a tipster, the purported smartphone may be powered by the same Exynos chipset as the premium Galaxy S24 series, despite the rumours that it may eliminate some features to make it more affordable.
In a tweet on X, tipster @Jukanlosreve says that the purported Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE could be powered by a flagship processor. It is claimed to be powered by the Exynos 2400 CPU, which is currently used in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus in select regions, including India.
These new details to earlier claims that stated the purported smartphone would have more subdued internal components to keep prices as cheap as possible. As a less expensive version of the clamshell-style foldable model from the Galaxy Z Flip series, it is anticipated to go on sale in 2025.
As per Samsung, it is exploring methods to reduce entry barriers so that more customers can experience foldable products. And one big way to do that is by offering its products at a more accessible price point.
Interestingly, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset powers Samsung’s current flagship series of foldable smartphones. This implies that in certain regions, the South Korean company may switch from Qualcomm to its custom chipsets.
Samsung is also rumoured to be working on a Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim and another model in the Galaxy Z Fold 7 series, in addition to more reasonably priced versions of its foldables.
It is rumoured that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, a brand-new smartphone, will be added to the company’s main lineup in 2025. A tipster is now claiming that the purported smartphone will have a feature from Samsung’s flagship “Ultra” model. Like the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, the smartphone might be made available in restricted quantities.
