Samsung Could Have This Apple Intelligence-Like Feature For Galaxy Phones: All Details
Last Updated:
Samsung already has its AI suite of features for Galaxy users but it needs more to compete with Apple and Google.
Samsung showed us a glimpse of its next operating system, One UI 7, at the annual developer conference this year. Based on Android 15, the OS is getting a delayed release in 2025 with a host of new features. One of the most anticipated upgrades is the AI-powered Notification Summaries, which is similar to Apple’s AI feature.
According to Android Authority, citing tech tipster Chun Bhai, the South Korean tech giant plans to add this new Notification Summaries feature to its Galaxy AI on the latest One UI 7 build, which ends with XJW, and it is referred to as the ‘AI Notification’.
Notably, the update is currently limited to Korean language support. Additionally, it may not be available on mid-range Galaxy A series devices and could be exclusive to flagship Samsung phones.
As the name suggests, Notification Summaries will intelligently summarise multiple notifications to save time and highlight important information for users. This functionality appears to be identical to Apple’s notification summary tool, which has proven popular among users for its ability to cut through notification clutter.
Apple is using its AI prowess to shorten and summarise dozens of notifications, saving users valuable time by eliminating the need to scroll through multiple alerts. It also compresses various notifications to emphasise the most relevant information, allowing users to browse summaries for key details.
In addition to the AI Notification, Samsung is reportedly working on a new user interface for One UI 7, which will feature an upgraded quick-toggles menu, redesigned app icons, a new lock screen control area, and a refreshed camera interface. If the reports are true, these updates will significantly enhance the look and feel of Galaxy smartphones.
Samsung is expected to roll out One UI 7, based on Android 15, to a wider audience alongside the Galaxy S25 series that is widely tipped to be introduced early next year.
Currently, the Galaxy AI features are available on smartphones such as the Galaxy S24 series, S23 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
