Rs 55 crore: KTR booked as prime accused in Formula E case in Telangana | Hyderabad News
HYDERABAD: Couple of days after governor gave consent, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials registered a criminal case on Thursday afternoon against former minister (MA & UD) KT Rama Rao, former principal secretary (MA & UD) Aravind kumar, HMDA chief engineer BLN Reddy for allegedly committing financial irregularities by diverting Rs.55 crores to a london based company while organizing Formula E racing in Hyderabad.
The ACB officials charged KTR and two other accused for the violation of Prevention of Corruption Act, breach of trust and conspiracy.
The FIR was registered around 3.45pm. In the next few days ACB officials are gearing up to serve notice to the accused seeking them to face the probe.
The agency made KTR as the prime accused followed by Aravind Kumar and Reddy.
The case was registered on the complaint given by Senior IAS Officer Dana Kishore, who was the principal secretary (MA & UD), till recently. He alleged that the accused, diverted Rs.55 crores to London based Formula E operations (FEO) without following the laid down financial procedures, without Cabinet approval while planning to host Formula E racing 2nd edition in Hyderabad.
