Qasef, Shahed, Khatif Drones Bolster Houthi Arsenal | “Upgraded” Iranian Samad-3 Struck Tel Aviv

Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who claimed a deadly strike far from their borders inside Israel, have built up a significant drone arsenal. The July 19 drone attack on Tel Aviv killed one person and wounded several others. An Israeli military official said a “very big” drone had been detected but the alarm was not immediately raised because of “human error.”In that attack, a large, explosive-laden drone named “Jaffa” slammed into a building 100 metres from the US Consulate in downtown Tel Aviv. The attack marked a “new phase” in their operations against Israel, said the Houthis, who have been steadily developing their drone capabilities since 2014.The Houthis said the attack was carried out by the Jaffa, a mysterious new ultra-long-range airplane-style drone with radar-evading capabilities. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the drone could bypass air defence systems and radar detection.
