Isak netted thrice against Ipswich at Portman Road to help Newcastle to a 4-0 win as Jacob Murphy bagged the other goal. Strikes from Ola Aina and Anthony Elanga earned Nottingham a 2-0 win over Brentford.

Newcastle United posted a 4-0 win over Ipswich on Saturday in the Premier League encounter at Portman Road as Alexander Isak netted a hattrick and Jacob Murphy found the back of the net for the Magpies in the rout.

Isak opened the scoring in the very first minute of the game as Eddie Howe’s men edged ahead early in the game and remained in cruise control up until the final whistle.

Murphy’s insurance goal in the 32nd minute of the game asserted the Toon Army’s dominance in the game.

Isak got his second of the night in the second minute of the first half added time as the visitors led by three goals at the break. The Swede completed his treble in the 54th minute of the game to ensure he’d leave the ground with the match ball in his possession.

Brentford 0-2 Nottingham

Nottingham Forest went ahead in the game thanks to Ola Aina’s 38th-minute trike as Nuno Espirito Santo’s men seized the initiative in the first half of the game at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Anthony Elanga doubled Forests’ lead in the second half as he got his name on the scoresheet in the 51st minute.

Nottingham went to third in the table ahead of Arsenal, who have the chance to reclaim their place when they take on Crystal Palace later at night.

West Ham 1-1 Brighton

After a goalless first half, the game popped into action when Mats Wieffer opened the scoring in the 51st minute for Brighton. However, the lead did not last for long as Mohammed Kudus struck seven minutes later to restore parity.

The game opened up following the exchange of strikes, but neither team could find the winner as they played out a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium.
