Philippines Fugitive Ex-Mayor Alice Guo Arrested, Marcos Thanks Indonesia For “Successful Mission”

A dismissed town mayor who had fled the Philippines has been arrested near Indonesia’s capital, Filipino officials said. Indonesian authorities arrested Alice Guo from a house near Jakarta just before midnight on Sept. 4, according to officials.Guo had been on the run after being accused of helping establish an illegal online gaming and scam centre catering mostly to clients in China.Guo was in custody and awaiting deportation to the Philippines, according to Khrisna Murti, chief of the international division of the National Police. Murti added that her arrest was the result of “cooperation between Indonesian and Filipino police.”
