No bail for Raj man held with drugs | Goa News
Panaji: A Mapusa court has rejected the bail application of Jatan Singh, 48, from Rajasthan, who was arrested in March this year after he was found in possession of 532g of methamphetamine.
The police were tipped off about the delivery of a huge consignment in Candolim on March 27 between 7pm and 8pm. The narcotics control bureau officers set up surveillance near the Aradi-Pilerne junction.They intercepted the car and seized the drugs.
The court was told that there was circumstantial evidence in the form of a ticket showing that Singh travelled by train from Rajasthan to Goa. He stayed in Candolim with another man. The HC stated that bail could not be granted under Sec 37 of the NDPS Act as commercial quantity of drugs was seized from him.
