NIRF Ranking 2024: AIIMS Delhi tops medical category, Check India’s top 5 medical colleges here

The Ministry of Education has released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 rankings today, August 12, 2024. This year, in the Medical category, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, has clinched the top position, followed by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh.
This year, NIRF has introduced some alterations in its ranking criteria for institutes and colleges.
“For medical, we have reduced the faculty-to-student ratio from 1:15 to 1:10, and for state government universities, we have raised it from 1:15 to 1:20. We have introduced parameters of sustainable development goals and indicators of National Education Policy (NEP) which includes the Indian Knowledge System, adoption of regional languages and multiple entry and exit points.” mentioned Dr. Anil Kumar Nassa, member secretary, National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and NIRF.

The top 10 medical colleges according to NIRF rankings 2023 are as follows:

The rankings in 2024 remain unchanged from those in 2023.
The NIRF rankings were released online with Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other distinguished guests in attendance. This year, the number of ranking categories expanded from 13 to 16, with the introduction of new categories like Open Universities, State Universities, and Skill Universities for the 2024 rankings.
