Dinesh Vijan’s supernatural universe, popularly known as the horror comedy universe, has garnered a dedicated fan base. This popularity is attributed to its surprising storylines, excellent casting, witty one-liners, and the blend of horror and comedy. Not to mention, the memorable cameos! Take, Varun Dhawan’s cameo in ‘Stree 2‘, his character ‘Bhediya’ makes an appearance in the recently released movie.
Before ‘Stree 2’, another film from this universe, ‘Munjya’ had hit the theatres this year. Starring Abhay Verma and Sharvari, Munjya is now available on OTT platforms and seems to be receiving even more love than ‘Stree 2’.

At least, that’s the opinion of some fans. Following ‘Munjya’s’ release on OTT this weekend, many movie enthusiasts binge-watched it and shared their reviews on social media. According to some of these reviews, a segment of fans prefer ‘Munjya’ over Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s blockbuster ‘Stree 2’. One tweet stated: “#Munjya is the best film in the Maddock supernatural universe, it isn’t a perfect film, but it is better than the other films in that universe.” Another fan commented, “#Munjya is easily the better film compared to #Stree2.”

This sparked a debate, with ‘Stree 2’ fans rallying in support of their favorite film. In response to a comment calling ‘Munjya’ a “better horror film,” one fan wrote: “#Stree2 is better film than #Munjya.” Another post stated: “One time watch. ‘Stree 2’ is the sequel to the 2018 film ‘Stree’, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, which was the first release in the horror comedy universe. So, it’s considered the original! However, some movie enthusiasts clearly preferred ‘Munjya’.
