The 55th Edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is currently being held in Goa. Several renowned personalities are gracing the festival for exciting screenings and panel discussions. Among them, actress Sanya Malhotra, whose film Mrs. had its Asia premiere at the film fest, also arrived at the event in her ethnic best.
In a video circulating on social media, the Dangal actress could be seen making her way to the screening of the film. Sanya flaunted her adorable smile and interacted with the paps stationed at the star-studded event. Sharing the video in Instagram, Sanya wrote, “Day 2 at IFFI for “Mrs” gala premiere. Feeling overwhelmed and humbled by the incredible response and love. Grateful for this unforgettable journey
A shutterbug wished her all the best for the screening of her film. She asked him, “Tum dekh rahe ho na picture? (Are you watching the film?).” On this, he replied, “Haan haan (Yes Yes).”
Sanya looked beautiful in a golden and brown ethnic ensemble. She tied her curly hair into a bun and accessorised her look with long oxidised silver earrings.
Sharing her views on Mrs, the actress said, “It will help the audience learn and unlearn a lot of things. You will start questioning those things that come to your notice but that you still ignore,” during a conversation with ANI.
Helmed by Aarti Kadav, Mrs features Sanya Malhotra, Kanwaljit Singh and Nishant Dhaiya in the lead roles. The film follows the story of Richa (played by Sanya), a woman and homemaker on a journey of identity exploration. The film delves into themes of resilience, self-discovery and patriarchy.
Backed by Jio Studios and Baweja Studios, the film has already won applause at several international film festivals, including the New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) and the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
IFFI 2024, which is scheduled from November 20 to 28, features over 180 international films from 81 nations, including 16 world debuts, 3 international premieres, 43 Asian premieres and 109 Indian premieres.
Meanwhile, talking about Sanya, she was last seen in the film Sam Bahadur alongside Vicky Kaushal and Fatima Sana Shaikh. She will be next seen in the romantic drama film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which features Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. Apart from that, she also has South Superstar Kamal Haasan’s next action drama Thug Life in her kitty.
