Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024 LIVE Updates: With less than two weeks left for polling in Maharashtra, all major political parties have ramped up their campaigns in Maharashtra. In his two-day visit to the poll-bound state, PM Modi addressed several rallies for the BJP and took a swipe at the Opposition.
He slammed Uddhav Sena’s Arvind Sawant for his ‘imported’ remark on BJP’s Shaina NC. Addressing a rally in Nanded on Saturday, the PM took a dig at Rahul Gandhi and his party, Congress, and said the grand-old party wanted to run their parallel constitution.
He also slammed the recent chaos in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly over statehood to the UT where Congress is an ally of the ruling National Conference (NC). Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, too, responded to the jibes. The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Maha Vikas Agadi are set to launch their manifestos today.
The BJP is running as part of the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction and Ajit Pawar’s NCP. Opposing them is the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, comprising Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT), Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP), and the Congress party.
Elections to the 288-member legislative assembly will be held on November 20 and the votes will be counted on November 23.
