Kelly Reilly drops hints about Beth’s future in ‘Yellowstone’ amidst rumours of return in Season 6 |

Since its premiere in 2018, ‘Yellowstone’ has had fans hooked to its world of revenge with a blend of western grit and its dark secrets. But with the recent contrasting announcements about the series’ future, fans have been left wondering what lies ahead for the show’s iconic characters. Kelly Reilly, famous for her role as Beth Dutton, is now dropping hints about her possible future in the show.
‘Yellowstone’ was previously confirmed to end after Season 5, that was until rumours of a possible Season 6 began doing the rounds. Reilly, who has embodied the fiery Beth, spilled the beans in an interview with the BBC, where she described the upcoming season finale as “an ending to the ‘Yellowstone’ world we have known.”
However, when asked if this would be the last time fans would see her play the character on-screen, the actress teased, “Does it mean it’s the end of me playing her? Maybe, maybe not.”Kevin Costner, who portrayed lead character John Dutton, exited ‘Yellowstone’ following season 5. His departure followed a public dispute with the show’s creator, Taylor Sheridan, over creative differences related to the show’s writing and production. However, a recent Deadline report indicated that the show could possibly go on without Costner, setting up Reilly to be the face of the ‘Yellowstone’ universe.
With a number of spin-offs already in the works, Reilly admitted that she would “love” to reprise her character in “a new beginning somewhere.” However, she also confessed, “We don’t know yet is the honest answer.”
The actress, who has enjoyed a career spanning 30 years with roles in ‘True Detective’, ‘Prime Suspect’, and ‘Above Suspicion’, among many others, said that her role in ‘Yellowstone’ did bring her a heightened level of recognition. Beth’s character quickly became a fan favourite, inspiring countless social media posts and fan merchandise thanks to her iconic and bold dialogues.
Keeping in mind that her character had survived numerous traumas—attempted rape, betrayal, and heartbreak— Reilly was asked the kind of ending she would expect. “I would like something cathartic,” she said and added, “But I don’t know if happiness is something any of these characters strive for. They strive to protect, they strive to kill, they strive to be killed.”
