Kajal Pisal: I will go to play Garba because this is one thing I can’t miss
Navratri is a time of deep rest and rejuvenation. These nine days are fun-filled with garba and dandiya which actress Kajal Pisal ensures to enjoy despite her busy schedule.
Sharing about her Navratri plans this year, she says, “As I am shooting for Jhanak, I won’t be able to go to play Garba every evening. Whenever I get time in these nine days, I will go to play Garba because this is one thing I can’t miss.”
Talking about the festival, Kajal further says, “After my last show Sirf Tum, I was on break for a few months and I was reading and gathering knowledge from religious books about religion and culture.I found out that during Navratri, our mind should be immersed in the divine consciousness. There are so many things to learn from our traditions and festivals.”
She adds, “I avoid eating garlic and onions during these nine days. I also try to help and give gifts to young girls as they are considered goddesses. These are a few traditions which I have been following every year.”
Kajal believes in celebrating every culture and their traditions. She says, “I was born into a Gujarati family and for us, Navratri is one of the biggest festivals. But now that I’m married to a Maharashtrian family… here there is a tradition of haldi kumkum. So I get to learn about that as well. Currently, I’m shooting for the TV show Jhanak and I belong to a Bengali family, we will be celebrating Durga Puja on the sets. So this is a great way to celebrate one festival.”
