Jason Biggs is marking the 25th anniversary of his iconic role in American Pie with a fun twist. He’s now hosting Netflix’s Blue Ribbon Baking Championship, where he brings a touch of humor and nostalgia to the baking competition.
Biggs, known for his memorable role in American Pie, is having a good time with his new hosting gig. He joked that “no pies were harmed” during the filming of the show, playing on the famous scene from the 1999 film where his character Jim gets into trouble with an apple pie.Biggs mentioned that the show is “safe for family viewing” and is now available on Netflix.
In an interview with USA Today, Biggs shared his excitement about hosting a baking show, something he had always wanted to do. He added that he enjoys making pie jokes, which he believes are a fun way to connect with the audience. Whenever he’s at a loss for words, he’s ready with a pie-related quip to entertain the viewers.
Reflecting on his career, Biggs acknowledged the impact American Pie has had on his life. He described the film as a major turning point, noting how his life changed dramatically before and after the movie. American Pie was famous for its comedic and memorable moments, particularly the scene involving a pie, which has become a classic part of film history.
Although Biggs is not judging the competition on Blue Ribbon Baking Championship, he said he makes sure to sample all the creations. He joked about the quality of the pies in the show, making playful remarks about their attractiveness.
American Pie starred Biggs alongside Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, and Eddie Kaye Thomas as high school friends who make a pact to lose their virginities before graduation. The film also featured Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan, Natasha Lyonne, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Shannon Elizabeth, Jennifer Coolidge, and Eugene Levy. It led to several sequels, including American Pie 2, American Wedding, and American Reunion, along with various spin-offs.
