Is Ranbir Kapoor Like His Father Rishi Kapoor? Here’s What The Actor Has To Say

Ranbir Kapoor said he is more like his mother Neetu, but he picked the habit of yawning from his late father, Rishi Kapoor.
Ranbir Kapoor is now gearing up for Nitesh Tiwari’s film Ramayana. While he continues to make headlines for his preparation for the challenging role, he recently garnered attention for his close bond with his family. In a recent interview, Ranbir Kapoor recalled an endearing habit he picked from his late father, legendary actor Rishi Kapoor.
During a candid chat with Nikhil Kamath on his YouTube channel, Ranbir delved into the nuances of his relationship with his father and the ways Rishi’s presence continues to influence him. When asked if he does something that reminds him of his dad, Ranbir shared, “Now I am feeling certain things like how he used to yawn. He makes a certain sound, so there are a lot of things that I started believing that I emulate him.” However, Ranbir mentioned that he is more like his mom, actress Neetu Kapoor, describing her as “very calm and happy.”
Speaking further about his bond with Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir revealed that his father was “short-tempered” but a “good man.” He also mentioned that he never saw his dad’s eye colour.
Ranbir also spoke about his bonding with his sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. He said, “She is 2 years older than me. The thing is she left for further education in London, and by the time she came back, I went to New York. By the time I finished and came back, she got married. So, you know I missed out on the good years of bonding with her. She is married in Delhi and has a child. She is in a good space and I’m happy for her. But I’m not as close to her as I would like to be.”
Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020, after battling leukemia for two years.
On the professional front, Ranbir Kapoor will next appear in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. The film also stars Yash, Sunny Deol, Sai Pallavi and Lara Dutta. He will be also seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming action crime film Animal Park. It is a sequel to the 2023 film Animal. It also stars Triptii Dimri, Anil Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles.
On the personal front, Ranbir got married to actress Alia Bhatt on April 14, 2022. The couple welcomed a baby girl on November 6 of the same year.
