Aamir Khan and his entire family recently celebrated his mother Zeenat Hussain’s 90th birthday. This party took place on June 13 and one saw Aamir along with all the three children – Junaid Khan, Ira Khan and Azad Rao at the party. One also saw Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. Ira was present with husband Nupur Shikhare and many other family members were there.
Ira has now shared some unseen cake-cutting pictures from the grand party and the highlight was the cake with tea-pot and cup.These pictures give a glimpse of the most cherished, candid moments between the family. One is a full family picture and in others we see Aamir with son Azad and Ira and his mom Zeenat Hussain. But of course, the highlight for Ira remains the constant smile on her grandmom’s face. She penned a note talking about it, while also talking about aging.
Ira wrote, “I know there are lots of things and people in these photos. And I wanted you to focus on Dadi’s face. Just her. The cake cutting took a good 15 minutes. Standing can get tiring for her, there’s a fear, weakness… as there is when people get older and their bodies change again. I wonder from time to time what it is like to age. Not your-hair-turning-white kind of aging. The your-body-is-starting-to-deteriorated kind of aging. Where you start to lose capability in all your faculties. I’ve always wondered if I’d still be able to enjoy life or if by then I’d just be going through the motions. But look at her smile! She was beaming through it all! A genuine beaming. It made me smile 🙂 P.S. I was not allowed to check if the tea pot or cup were cake 🙄.”

Ira was seen wearing a peach saree at the birthday party, but she repeated her wedding blouse for the occasion.
