Just share these cards for your Insta profile rather than having an ID

Instagram wants to make it easy for sharing profiles and what better way than to have a digital card with all the information.

Instagram has unveiled a new “profile card” feature that makes sharing profiles easier and more fun for creators. Users can now design two-sided digital cards packed with customisable options that reflect their unique style. This fresh addition comes hot on the heels of Meta’s recent launch of the “song on profile” feature, which allows users to infuse their accounts with personal music selections that showcase their personalities and present moods.

Profile cards on Instagram: Know About it

According to Instagram, users now have the opportunity to create a more dynamic and customised digital card to share with others using the new Profile Card feature. This card can include a bio, links to other pages, music that reflects the user’s personality, and various other elements, in addition to a QR code that directs others to their profile. Furthermore, users have the option to change the background colour of the card, upload a selfie, or add a personalised emoji.

While one side of the card features a QR code that can be scanned by others to access the profile, the other side of the card is not shareable. The company claims that this can serve as a simple method for creators to collaborate with brands by easily sharing their profiles.

For several years, Instagram has allowed users to share profile cards, but this capability was previously limited to QR codes. Now, users can also discuss their favourite songs or hobbies.

To share the profile cards, users must navigate to Instagram’s profile section and select the ‘Share Profile’ option. They can add the relevant information and edit the profile card by selecting the edit icon. Instagram’s profile cards can be shared not only in stories but also across other networks.

Stay in touch or catch up: Make new friends, maintain contact with old ones, or just look for folks that understand you.

Express your creativity: Try experimenting with your bio, song selection, profile picture, and card background to add some creativity to your profile card.

Creative collabs: Present your bio and contact details in a stylish digital package, and share it with brands and possible collaborators.
