After former Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad fled the country to take asylum in Russia, purported videos have surfaced revealing the “family bunker” which reportedly stored gold and weapons belonging to the Assad clan.

Damascus witnessed chaos and unrest, besides celebrations, after rebels stormed the city leading to the Assad regime’s fall. The looters raided the banks and ran off with boxes of cash while the people ransacked the presidential palace.

What Do Viral Videoes Show?

The footage which was allegedly shot at Assad’s home shows a door that opens to give way to another reinforced door. A long and steep stairs follow which lead to another door. There is a long and steep tunnel behind the door with a number of steps that make it difficult to see the other end of it.

At the bottom of the tunnel, several boxes and other materials are found thrown haphazardly. The tunnel ends in a large corridor that is similar to a storage room. It has multiple rooms attached.

Footage Shows Surprising Objects

In one room, a chaotic pile of plastic cases, bags, briefcases, drawers, and boxes are stacked haphazardly. The person filming rummages through some of it before heading toward a heavily reinforced door with a wheel mechanism for opening.

However, unable to access it, he turns back and tries another room, which turns out to be a kitchen.

As he scans the room, a box of Tetley teabags is visible on the countertop. He then moves into an adjoining room resembling a cozy lounge, furnished with a sofa set, a coffee table, and even an ensuite.

Afterward, the man leaves, carrying a briefcase taken from the first room and a tray of items from the coffee table.
