The two-time World Champion has been at the forefront of the sport in India over the past few years and also managed to bring home the Commonwealth Games Gold at the Birmingham Games.
A lot of Indian medal hopes at the Paris Olympics were pinned on the pugilist from Nizamabad, but the 28-year-old bowed out of the event in shocking fashion as she went down to Wu Yu of the People’s Republic of China by unanimous decision in the round of 16 of the women’s 50kg boxing event.
However, the boxer took it in her strike and termed the loss as an experience that would only help her improve.
She has also managed to claim the bronze at the Asian Games in Hangzhou in addition to finishing third in the Asian Championships in Bangkok in the year 2019.
