The national capital of Delhi and its adjoining areas received heavy spells of showers on Wednesday morning, bringing a respite for the Delhiites from the humidity.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat and other West UP regions are expected to receive moderate to heavy rainfall today.

The weather agency has also issued a ‘Yellow’ alert for the national capital for the next two days, and an ‘Orange alert’ for Haryana for today predicting heavy spells of showers.

The maximum and minimum temperatures of Delhi will likely hover around 36 and 27 degrees Celsius.

The Delhi-NCR region witnessed a sudden change in weather as heavy rains lashed parts of the region. Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius, 1.3 notches above normal, according to the weather department. The relative humidity at 5.30 pm stood at 68%.
