‘Goldy Brar threat’: In judge-realtor dispute probed by Delhi Police, extortion call from gangster alleged | Delhi News
NEW DELHI: Delhi Police is investigating a strange case of extortion involving a city judge, a real estate businessman and US-based gangster Goldy Brar. The businessman has claimed he received the threat call from Brar demanding crores at the behest of a judge, a charge denied by the latter, who has instead claimed that the businessman had got his car stolen.
An FIR has been filed and the judge’s statement recorded, sources said. The case is also being probed by the vigilance wing of HC, a source added. Brar is Man Friday of Lawrence Bishnoi and handles operations of the gang from abroad along with Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol, who is wanted in NCP neta Baba Siddiqui’s murder. The matter unfolded a few months ago when the complainant allegedly got into a financial dispute with his brother, said the source.
Judge’s ‘stolen’ car found from outside businessman’s house
The complainant has alleged that the judge, who was known to the family, reportedly asked for the financial dispute to be settled in a particular manner.
“Unhappy with this, the complainant approached the high court and filed a complaint along with audio recordings of their alleged conversations. He later deposed before the high court and gave his statement,” said a source.
Shortly after this, the businessman claims he received a threat call from Brar asking for crores. He recorded the call and approached high court and Delhi Police with the recording, alleging tthe call was made on the judge’s behest.
After HC’s nod, Delhi Police filed an FIR of extortion and started an investigation. It questioned the judge a few weeks ago and sent the audio recording of the extortion call to the forensic department for comparing it with Brar’s verified voice sample. The report is awaited. It also recorded the statement of the complainant and his brother.
Meanwhile, in another twist, the judge complained to the police that his car had been stolen from Rohini. It was later recovered from outside the house of the complainant in Gurugram.
As cops started probing the latest case, the complainant again approached HC, claiming that he was being targeted by the judge. He filed a plea asking for analysis of CCTV footage etc and requested for a stay on an FIR against him.
This case is currently in an advanced stage of investigation and the police will need to take HC’s nod before taking any coercive action, sources said.
