HYDERABAD: Former minister and BRS senior leader T Harish Rao alleged that since the Congress government came to power, law and order have gone from bad to worse. He said it’s truly alarming that two murders occurred in Hyderabad just a day after he raised the issue of 500 murders in the past eight months in the assembly.
He said that chief minister Revanth Reddy, who is also handling the home ministry, hasn’t even taken the time to review these crimes with the police.Murders and rapes are happening unchecked, yet the government and police seem indifferent. They have completely failed in their duty to protect the lives and dignity of our citizens. It’s deeply disappointing that law and order aren’t a priority for this government, Harish Rao said in a statement.
The ex-minister said the rise in crime is clear evidence that the CM and the police have utterly failed in maintaining law and order, noting that the government needs to wake up and take immediate action to restore peace and security. Over the past decade, Hyderabad and Telangana have attracted investments worth thousands of crores due to the peace and security the BRS government established, Harish added.
“Today, risk tarnishing not just the state’s reputation but also Hyderabad’s standing. This situation could severely impact the inflow of investments. I urge the government to act decisively against anti-social elements. Their current indifference is unacceptable. The CM must move beyond political interests and focus on creating a safe and peaceful environment for our people,” Harish said.
