The Voting for the bypolls in 13 assembly constituencies spread across seven states commenced on Wednesday, marking the first electoral exercise after the conclusion of 2024 Lok Sabha elections which ended June.

The constituencies participating in the bypolls include Raiganj, Ranaghat Dakshin, Bagdah, and Maniktala in West Bengal; Vikravandi in Tamil Nadu, Amarwara in Madhya Pradesh, Badrinath and Manglaur in Uttarakhand, Jalandhar West in Punjab, Dehra, Hamirpur, and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh and Rupauli in Bihar.

In West Bengal, voting commenced at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm.

Three of these constituencies—Maniktala in Kolkata, Ranaghat Dakshin, and Bagdah in North 24 Parganas—are situated in the southern part of the state. The fourth, Raiganj, is located in the northern part of Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur district.
