Bigg Boss Kannada 11 served police notice over privacy breach
The organizers of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 11, hosted by Kiccha Sudeep, have received a police notice following a complaint about the violation of female contestants’ privacy on the show. The notice was issued by Kumbalgodu police after the Karnataka State Women’s Commission raised concerns about a controversial task in the house.
Police Action
The Kumbalgodu police served a formal notice to the show’s organizers, asking them to appear for an inquiry. The action follows a complaint about the “Heaven and Hell” task, where contestants were divided and placed in separate sections, some in a prison-like setting. The complaint highlighted the lack of privacy for female contestants, especially in an environment with multiple cameras, raising questions about potential violations of human rights.
Inspector Manjunath Hoogar personally visited the Bigg Boss set to deliver the notice. The police demanded raw footage from the conversations that allegedly crossed boundaries. The notice also warned the organizers that strict action would follow if they failed to comply with the investigation.
Women’s Commission Complaint
The complaint, filed by the Women’s Commission, accused the show of unfair treatment toward female participants. It highlighted issues such as the inadequate provision of facilities, especially in the prison-like set, where the contestants, including women, were being confined. The complaint pointed out that detaining individuals in such a manner, without proper food and sanitary facilities, was unacceptable, and violated their privacy and dignity.
Nagalakshmi Chaudhary, chairperson of the Karnataka Women’s Commission, assured that the issue would be thoroughly investigated, prompting the police notice.
Show’s Response
In response to the controversy, the show has already discontinued the “Heaven and Hell” concept. The prison-like set has been dismantled, and all contestants are now treated equally under the standard format.
As the situation unfolds, all eyes are on the organizers to see how they will respond to the police notice and the complaint filed by the Women’s Commission.
