Android 15 update is yet to roll out for Pixel 9 and other users

Google launched the Pixel 9 series with Android 14 last month and the company is doing everything to release the Android 15 version sometime next month.

Android 15 release finally has a clearer date and going by the latest reports it could happen in a few weeks time. Google has informed that the Android 15 AOSP or Android Open Source Project build is now available, which means other brands can start working on their respective Android iterations. But for Pixel users, the new Android 15 version is a big deal, especially if you have bought any of the new Pixel 9 series models.

The interface for Android 15 is unlikely to see major changes from 14 and that has become evident over the last few months, starting from the Android 15 Developer Preview version.

Android 15 Release Date For Pixel Phones: What We Know

Reports coming this month suggest the Pixel 9 devices and older models will be getting the Android 15 version around October 15 this year. The report here claims Google’s promised timeline of coming weeks could be fulfilled with this roll out, at least for the eligible Pixel devices starting from Pixel 6. The new Android 15 version will be available through an over-the-air update from Google, and these Pixel phones can get it sometime next month:

– Pixel 6

– Pixel 6 Pro

– Pixel 6a

– Pixel 7

– Pixel 7 Pro

– Pixel 7a

– Pixel 8

– Pixel 8 Pro

– Pixel 8a

– Pixel Tablet

– Pixel 9

– Pixel 9 Pro

– Pixel 9 Pro XL

– Pixel 9 Pro Fold

– Pixel Fold

Google’s advance launch of the Pixel 9 series this year has forced the company to offer the new devices with the older version for the first time. However, Google should have prepared the Android 15 beta schedule for an earlier release which would have helped the company go about its usual release timeline.

Google also offers 7 years of OS updates since the Pixel 8 series launch in 2023 and the company will have to live up to its word and make sure these updates are rolled out quickly every year.
